The Silent Miracle
Chapter Seven – Finding the Reference Points of Your Mind

Awareness in people ranges
between those
who are oblivious of life,
to those
who are mindful
and fully involved in it.

Everyone has a conscious awareness—it’s that part of you that observes what you are thinking. When the conscious awareness is untrained, clear observations and self-control are weak, and you have a tendency to be controlled by the past. When your conscious awareness is used properly, it illuminates the undefined parts of your mind. In other words, when your conscious awareness is associated with your big mind—your spiritual self—you are liberated, gaining the ability to move freely within the overall framework of the mind. This freedom gives you the opportunity to make decisions without resistance from the small mind’s old patterns of thinking. Independent conscious awareness gives you the option to choose which part of your mind to function from: the past conditioning of the small mind or the immediate experience of the big mind.
Do you want to live a life based on patterns from your brain, or from the perceptions of your big mind—perceptions free of influences?
Your conscious awareness is the first major reference point to become aware of when practicing Kelee Meditation. It is important to be able to calm your conscious awareness on command and to relax the brain. Learning to relax your conscious awareness and detach from the clamoring of the small mind are two very important mental disciplines to master. Relaxing your conscious awareness through the brain network is highly therapeutic for relieving mental stress and allows you to drop into deeper states of meditation.
When your conscious awareness is detached from brain function, mindfulness and enlightenment are sure to follow.
